PocherResurgence of a legend

In the beginning H0 scale trains and prototype models for FIAT and the Turin Auto Show had been Arnaldo Pochers bu- siness but in the mid-sixties he began manufacturing model kits of famous automobiles in 1/8 scale.Over the years the company he founded produced models of iconic super sports cars such as the FIAT 130hp, the Alfa Romeo 8C 2300 or the Mercedes-Benz 500K.

Later having been acquired by Rivarossi the Ferrari Testarossa joined the new Prestige series of Pocher. The Testarossa was Pochers first model featuring a body made of metal die-cast, a formula for success that has been adopted for the new Ferrari F40, too. In 1998 the Porsche 911 was Pochers last model kit. In 2004 Pocher joined the Hornby family and thoughts for a revival by Hornby kept being discussed for quite some time. After a long period of planning we are proud to announce the Resurgence of a Legend!

~~In keeping with the Pocher tradition the car body of the 13 lbs model is made of premium metal die-cast and comes ready painted. The kit is easy to build and can be assembled for both left-hand and right-hand drive. The 1:8 sportster kit consists of more than 600 parts made of am assortment of materials including metal, rubber, textiles and premium quality plastic. Many parts are simply screwed. Of course steering, suspension and spoiler mechanism are functional with doors and hatches being capable of being opened.

Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4

Twelve cylinders, 700 hp and 2.9 seconds from 0 to 62 mph. The gear box of the Lamborghini Aventador changes gears faster than the driver can blink. With a top speed of 217 mph and only 1,14 m high the Aventador is the equivalent of a jet fighter for the road. The engine is started by a fire button accessible after lifting a small red flap.Following an old Lamborghini tradition the name Aventador goes back to a Spanish fighting bull, however Ferrari, Bugatti & Co. watch out, this Toro does not just want to play!

The US car has a lightweight design and is the first large scale production Lamborghini featuring a monocoque made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic. Propulsion is provided by a longitudinally mounted V12 mid-engine. The power transmission is carried out by an Independent-Shift-Rod Gearbox. The driver can choose between automatic mode and manual mode using shift paddles.
